When Lundaspelen Special was introduced, it quickly became one of the most appreciated initiatives within the tournament. It is a dedicated category within Lundaspelen – created for basketball players with disabilities – where joy, inclusion, and the unifying power of sport are at the center.
During the most recent edition, Lundaspelen Special took an important and exciting step forward. For the first time, we were able to host a complete group stage with four teams from both Denmark and Sweden, resulting in a fantastic day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and wonderful basketball. The atmosphere on the court and in the stands confirmed what we already knew: when everyone gets the chance to participate, both the sport and the sense of community grow.
A Growing Initiative – Reaching Even More Players
Looking ahead, our ambition is clear: Lundaspelen Special will continue to expand. We want to welcome more teams, play more games, and create even more unforgettable moments.
The tournament is played with 2 x 15 minutes of running time, with unlimited substitutions, and every participant receives a medal and a T-shirt – but above all, memories that last long after the final whistle.
To make the event as accessible as possible, we offer a subsidized team fee, enabling more clubs, players, and families to take part in the experience that Lundaspelen Special provides.
